This is a friendly reminder that the first Coffee Talk with Principal Mellish is scheduled for Friday, September 22nd at 9:30am on the stage in the commons.  The topics that could potentially be discussed include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Status of building new schools and potential impact on Newcastle.
  • Did the state actually fix state funding?
  • What are the 3 most important messages Newcastle staff has for parents?
  • What do we know about student academic achievement at Newcastle?
  • Lessons learned from Maywood Middle School. Yes, these lessons apply even to kindergarten.
  • Cultural Competency Initiative. What it is and how it could impact everything.
  • Open question and answer: bring your own topic!

If you are unable to attend the first coffee talk of this school year, please mark your calendars for the following dates which have also been set aside for additional Coffee Talk meetings: November 17th, February 9th, April 20th.
