The Newcastle 2018 National Geographic Bee Champion is…
  After outstanding effort by all thirteen finalists in the Newcastle Elementary National Geographic Bee, the exciting championship round came down to Carter Ackermann and Caleb Chin!  In the end, it was Carter who earned the title of school champion. Carter will now take an online test provided by the National Geographic Society in an attempt to qualify for the state competition. The top 100 students in the state (selected based on qualifying test scores) will represent their schools and compete at the state level on April 2, 2018.   We strive for 100% parent participation at Newcastle.  The membership fee is for the current school year and is to be renewed annually. PTSA Membership Levels: Family Membership – $25 Staff Membership – $10 A portion of the Newcastle PTSA membership fee goes toward the National and Washington State PTA Membership Service Fees and the remaining portion goes to cover the expense of producing our Newcastle Elementary School Directory.  Only paid Newcastle PTSA members will receive a printed school directory.   Your child's teacher gets $50 to spend on books for the classroom if 100% of their students have a ... read full article
