The Newcastle Elementary PTSA is a non-profit organization which supports the children and families of Newcastle Elementary School within the Issaquah School District. In partnership with families, the community, teachers, and staff, we provide the funding, programs, and volunteers to enrich the educational experience for every child.
MEMBERSHIP
We will strive to achieve 100% membership with each family, teacher, and staff member represented.
STUDENT & FAMILY PROGRAMS
- Maintain and strengthen programs and events that are valued traditions within our Newcastle community, such as Fall Festival, Multicultural Family Night, and End-of-Year Spring Fling.
- Continue newer programs such as Reflections, Winter Decorating Night, and Game Night.
- Bring back enrichment opportunities such as the Spelling Bee and Geography Bee.
- Support the Lion Art Program to bring meaningful art education and creativity into the student curriculum.
Our goal is to encourage community engagement and connection within our school by maintaining and creating meaningful events and programs that become lasting Newcastle traditions.
PARENT OUTREACH
The PTSA will build and sustain a sense of welcome and community for every Newcastle family:
- Execute Kinder Connect events to connect kindergarten parents together.
- General Membership meeting may include a Parent Education element, as appropriate.
- Welcome and support those families new to Newcastle to allow for a smooth transition.
COMMUNICATION
- The PTSA will strive to ensure each family, teacher, and staff member is aware of PTSA events and activities using eNews, KidMail, website and social media communications.
- The PTSA will create transparency regarding how fundraising dollars are spent with bi-annual budget reviews at General Membership meetings and timely communications as spending occurs.
STAFF AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT
- The PTSA will recognize and support the efforts of the staff at Newcastle Elementary by hosting grade-level luncheons and celebrating the staff during Staff Appreciation Week.
- The PTSA will recognize and support volunteer efforts with special recognition or event(s).
FUNDRAISERS
The PTSA will conduct fundraising activities throughout the school year to maintain strong financial support for our key programs, events, and student enrichment opportunities.
Our largest fundraiser this school year will be the Game Night Auction on March 5, bringing our community together while raising essential funds to support Newcastle students and programs.
HUMANITARIAN
The PTSA will create a community of giving via Food Drives, Holiday Gift programs, and the coordination of the Angel Program.
